Terms of use
Short, and written to be read. Nothing in here gives us a right to your files, because for fifteen of the sixteen tools we never receive them.
What this is
Fylevia is a set of sixteen file tools you can use in a web browser. Fifteen of them run entirely on your own device; the rest send your file to our server for the length of one operation. Which is which is listed by name on the privacy page.
Using the site means accepting what is written here. If you do not accept it, do not use the site — nothing is installed and there is nothing to uninstall.
What it costs
Nothing. Every tool is free. Server operations are limited to 5 a day without an account and 20 with one, resetting at midnight UTC. The fifteen browser tools are not counted against either.
There is no paid plan today and therefore no subscription, no card on file and no refund policy. If a paid plan is introduced, it will not remove a tool that is free on the day you read this.
Your files stay yours
You keep every right you already had in anything you put into these tools. We claim no licence over your files, do not read them, do not train anything on them, and do not pass them to anyone.
For the browser tools there is nothing to claim rights over — the file never reaches us. For a server tool, the file is held in memory for the operation and discarded when the result returns.
What you agree not to do
Do not use the tools on material you have no right to, and do not use them to break the law. Do not attempt to overload, probe or disrupt the service, and do not resell access to it as if it were your own.
Automated bulk use of the server tools may be rate-limited or blocked. The browser tools are yours to use as heavily as your own machine allows.
What we do not promise
The service is provided as it is. We do not guarantee it will be available, uninterrupted, or free of faults, and we do not guarantee that a result will suit your purpose.
File processing can fail or produce an imperfect result — a scan may be misread, a compression may soften an image, a conversion may not preserve every detail. Each room states its own limits on its own page. Keep your original file. Check anything that matters before you rely on it.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from use of the service, including lost or damaged files. Nothing here removes rights you have that cannot be removed by agreement — consumer rights in your country included.
Accounts
An account is optional and exists only to raise the daily server limit. It stores four things and no files. You can delete it at any time; every tool keeps working afterwards at the signed-out limit.
We may suspend an account that is being used to abuse the service.
Changes
These terms may change. If they change in a way that matters, the change will be visible on this page rather than announced in an email nobody reads. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting it.
